Measurements for Women's Indian Clothes

SHOULDERS

From shoulder bone left to shoulder bone right. *this is Not the measurement of a T-shirt which is end of shoulder to end of shoulder. *Indian outfits are not made that way, use the collar bone measurement.

ARM CIRCUMFERENCE 4 INCH

First measure 4 inches from the end of the collar bone down the top of the arm. Then measure the circumference of the arm at that point. Measure next to the skin. The tailor can add space for the sleeve fitting.

ARM CIRCUMFERENCE 6 INCH

First measure 6 inches from the end of the collar bone down the top of the arm. Then measure the circumference of the arm at that point. Measure next to the skin. The tailor can add space for the sleeve fitting.

CHEST

Measure the largest part of chest *don't overthink, just do. If you measured yourself in home ec. this is the same measurement.

UNDER CHEST

Where the bra strap goes around the bottom of the chest.

TIRE

Yes, you need the largest part of your waist/ stomach. *you don't want anything to be too tight!

WAIST

This is where you will wear the skirt. This should be below your belly button, and above your hip bones. The hips will help the skirt stay on.

SHOULDER TO WAIST

From your collar bone to your waist (as described above). This measurement is for your blouse. Go straight down, do not go over the bust. The tailor will add the overlap of the blouse over the skirt when making the piece.

HIPS/BUTT

Please provide the largest part of your hips/butt measurement. You don't want anything to be tight. The skirt should accommodate the figure, so you need the measurement.

SKIRT LENGTH

This should be from your "waist" measurement (as described above) to the floor, this will allow you to add an inch or 2 if you’d like to wear heels.
