- Do you picture getting married in a winter wonderland? Evergreens and Christmas lights in the background. A little bit of risk with the weather
- Want to take pictures in the park with lots of buds and flowers?
- Love the long day of sunshine? The hot weather.
- Are you picturing a vacation feel of a three day weekend with friends and family?
- Is your ideal date the date of your first meeting, first kiss, the proposal, your birthday?

Choose the days of the week
This may seem 'obvious' to you, but it is important to think it through so that you are planning intentionally instead of just following what you've seen others do.

The majority of couples prefer to get married on a Saturday.
- Saturday is often the most 'free' day for those working conventional schedules. If this is not you (say you are a musician who does gigs on Saturdays), then feel free to have your wedding any day, any time!
- Some choose to have weddings on Friday / Sunday as there may be religious reasons, or financial reasons. Keep in mind that if you are planning a more involved event, your family or VIPs may need to take a day off of work to be there for you fully.
- Some choose to have their wedding on a date that is meaningful to them despite the 'day of the week' it is
Choose the season
Nature dictates the outdoor temperatures and the flora and fauna, and is one thing we cannot control, so best to plan around it. If you have a preference, now is when to factor it in. If it helps, assume you will spend (at least) one hour outside that day, does that work for you?
For example, if you can't take the heat, void peak summer dates. If cold really gets to you, cross out deep winter months. Does pollen make your crazy? Or maybe you find fall leaves depressing... plan ahead so you are in good shape for your big day.

SummerLong days full of sunshine, and warm evenings.
If you are sensitive to heat, avoid those peak hot days. |
FallLove the fall colors, October is your game.
Do falling leaves depress you, choose another time of year. |
