So, Where is it going to be?

​One of the biggest questions is also one of the first questions you work on for wedding planning. (We are here to help you get it right)

Here are a few kick off questions to get you moving in the right direction for your venue search. 
And please note - there are a wide variety of options. Many venues offer a variety of settings, for example a venue may have a ballroom as well as a garden. There are also more options that the ones listed here. These are to wet your appetite.

The question you need to answer at the end of the day is 'what spaces do I need for my big day' -- where do you want to say 'I do' and to celebrate. 

Types of Locations

Ballroom

This is great for an indoor ceremony and reception. There are many different styles and options. 

Garden

If your heart is set on an outdoor green space, it's important to plan that ahead of time. 

Beach

For a saying vows with sand between your toes, (or at least not too far away) head to the beach.

Simple

Do you prefer 'less is more'?

Intimate

Consider a smaller gathering in the range of 0-150 guests, where you would have an opportunity to greet each guest and see everyone in the ballroom.

Religious

Following religious or cultural traditions to guide the ceremony and activities of the day. 

Morning

Consider a morning/ lunch event, or perhaps an all day event. 

Grand

Perhaps 'more is more' and the layering of aspects draws your eye in and is attractive.

Large

Maybe go for something larger and have the whole community celebrate and invite friends from each chapter of your life.

Secular

Putting together your own expression of commitment and celebration. 

Evening

Keep the morning as your own, and say your vows in the evening followed by the reception at night. 

Putting it all together

By putting together these pieces, you will start to see where you should start looking for a venue. And as with all things, you may be balancing a variety of preferences and looking for something that meets you in the middle. Perhaps he wants to get married outdoors, she prefers indoors. Perhaps there is a venue with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto a garden, so there is nature accessible in the background, and climate control available inside.
